What I Do: |
Why It Works: |
Own the skills, own the test. The LSAT uses a relatively small set of logical concepts. Once you understand those concepts, and more importantly, once you learn how to apply them to the test, your score will go up. I teach you the logical skills needed to do well, and I present them in a simple but effective format. I then teach you how to consistently apply those skills on the test. Practical knowledge, practical application. Rinse and repeat. The logic is simple, the patterns are simple, and the results are fast.
Focused Assessment. The key to good practice is smart practice. This means that we need to not only identify your errors but also understand why you make them. I will work with you to identify the specific areas of reasoning that need improvement, and we will develop strategies that allow you to anticipate and respond to those types of problems in the future. The goal is to help you practice well on your own, so that your time both in and out of our sessions is maximally productive. |
I don't teach strategies. I teach what works. The LSAT knows you better than you do. Every item is focus tested across all the thousands of test-takers studying just like you, and preparing just like you. They know what strategies you will be taught and what strategies you will use. That is why people plateau. That is why students struggle to break 165 or 170. I don't teach strategies. I don't teach what works most of the time. I teach what succeeds 100% of the time. The methods are my own, and based on what has worked with my students as well as my long years of teaching logic and critical reasoning. Forget categories, types of problems, etc. With enough practice, you will be able to master the test. Every item. All the time.
What Does That Mean? To get a high score, you must be fast and accurate. Most people are one or the other, but not both. To do both, you need to make the test a mechanical exercise. This involves approaching each section in a consistent way that maximizes pattern recognition and argumentative certainty. The goal is for you to know, with certainty, that you have selected the right answer and why. Most prep tutorials and books reason backwards. After the fact. You need to learn how to reason "forward" to the right answer. That is what I teach you to do. |
