What I Charge:

UPDATE FOR COVID-19: Due to the ongoing pandemic and the need to limit contact, I am not currently conducting in-person sessions. I still offer group sessions through Zoom or other online modalities.

**Pricing change! I apologize for the increase in my hourly rate. I hope it will be short-term, but it is entirely the result of Covid-19. The goal is always to find the balance between providing you high-quality instruction and keeping prices affordable for students of more moderate means. If you need help and can't afford the price increase, please email me. I keep a few places open for "sliding scale" need-based payment schedules, and I will help you pro bono in as many ways as I can, from exercises to resources. At the very least, watch the free videos on my site to learn about the LSAT, self-assessment, and logic.

Online tutoring: $45.00/hr. Most of my tutoring is done online. I use Skype/Duo/Zoom for online sessions as well as a free Whiteboard for collaborative work and document-sharing. I do not charge for out-of-session work! Setting a study schedule for you, homework and exercises that I put together for you, as well as evaluation of your work, charting improvement, and test-day prep are included in the hourly cost.

Group: $25.00/person per hour. 90 minute minimum. 3-5 persons with a 5 person maximum. It is very, very rare for me to work with private groups, but when I do it is almost always for school groups.

What I Do:

In my prep courses, I work primarily with students new to the LSAT, moving start to finish from pre-diagnostic to test day. I offer a full step-by-step guide through every part of the LSAT, from Logic Games (Analytical Reasoning) to Reading Comprehension. But wherever you are in your prep, I can help. Many of my private clients come to me after taking other prep courses and usually discouraged by their slow progress. My goal for every client is to save them money while helping get the score they want. I will get you working effectively on your own as quickly as possible. I teach proper self-assessment, as well as how to structure your study sessions, and research-based practices for efficient improvement. The faster and more efficient you become, the less you need me, and the more money you save. On average, my private clients score very high. I have not had a client of mine score below 165 in well over a year, and that student needed (and scored) only a 160 to get into the program they wanted. I have placed students in Ivy League programs and T20 programs. I firmly believe my statistically anomalous results come from the way I approach teaching the LSAT as well as the fact that I am able to give my full individual attention to each client.

What Costs Money:

What Does Not Cost Money:

One-on-one tutoring sessions: I tend to work mostly online using a video chat app and an online whiteboard to communicate real-time with students. It is essentially a teleconference, and it is pretty much identical (and personally I think more effective) than face-to-face meetings irl. I only tutor one-on-one, with a 1-hour minimum. I do teach groups -- usually university based -- but I will teach private groups if that's the best venue for you.

That's it. That's all you pay for. I do not charge for pre-test assessment, work that I do on your behalf outside of our session, materials I send to you to complete, homework, or external review.

You only pay for our one-on-one tutoring session. Period.

Policies and Restrictions:

  1. In-person sessions are limited by geographical area and availability. I work mainly in Worcester, MA and Salem, MA. I can sometimes make Boston, MA work, but not often. Most students work online. It's easier, more flexible, and just as effective.
  2. Online sessions require: (a) Skype, Zoom, Google Hangouts, or similar audio/video conferencing app; or just your phone. (b) Google Docs; I will be sending you exercises and problem sets. (c) whiteboard access (for which I provide the link). I use a free online whiteboard so we can collaborate real-time.
  3. Payment must be made at time of service, either through Venmo or PayPal.
  4. If I am notified at least 24 hours in advance, there is no charge for canceling or rescheduling a session. Otherwise a $25.00 cancellation fee is imposed, payable prior to reschedule.
  5. I reserve the right to terminate our arrangement at any time.

PT Assessment and Initial Consultation: Many students don't want to take a prep course (good call!), but aren't sure how to begin on their own. They're unsure about tutoring, but without spending money they don't know how to identify where to study, what to work on, or where they need help. So, I offer free assessment of your Pre-Test. I'll tell you what logic skills and concepts you need to work on, where you need to improve for logic games, the types of questions you get wrong on Logical Reasoning, and offer pointers for Reading Comprehension. Yes, free. No, there's no obligation. No, there are no strings, and no catch. Whether you wish to continue with me or not, I offer this service. Use the information I give you to get that baseline! And then find the person or prep course that works for you and get to work.

First Session: Our first tutoring session is free. After the initial session, you will have a sense of what I do and how I do it. There are no obligations or commitments on your part.

Consultation and Advice: Whether we work together or not, I'm happy to offer advice about tutoring, LSAT, home-prep, or anything else. My email is on the contact page. Ask away! Curious which resources are good and which aren't? Need a good logic and reasoning primer? Go for it.

All out-of-session work: I don't charge for any work that I do for you outside of our sessions. Ever.

The Blog: I plan to put quite a bit of information on the blog. Tips, advice, even some logic games solutions. Enjoy! It's for fun and makes me happy. If you learn something from it, great. I haven't posted much in awhile. But I'll get to it eventually.
